From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Black Widow comes the thrilling new summer blockbuster featuring legendary spy, assassin and art restorer Gabriel Allon.
A heart-stopping tale of suspense, Daniel Silva’s runaway bestseller, The Black Widow, was one of 2016’s biggest novels. Now, in House of Spies, Gabriel Allon is back and out for revenge – determined to hunt down the world’s most dangerous terrorist, a shadowy ISIS mastermind known only as Saladin.
Four months after the deadliest attack on the American homeland since 9/11, terrorists leave a trail of carnage through London’s glittering West End. The attack is a brilliant feat of planning and secrecy, but with one loose thread.
The thread leads Gabriel Allon and his team of operatives to the south of France and to the gilded doorstep of Jean-Luc Martel and Olivia Watson. A beautiful former British fashion model, Olivia pretends not to know that the true source of Martel’s enormous wealth is drugs. And Martel, likewise, turns a blind eye to the fact he is doing business with a man whose objective is the very destruction of the West. Together, under Gabriel’s skilled hand, they will become an unlikely pair of heroes in the global war on terror.
Written in seductive and elegant prose, the story moves swiftly from the glamour of Saint-Tropez to the grit of Casablanca and, finally, to an electrifying climax that will leave readers breathless long after they turn the final page.
But House of Spies is more than just riveting entertainment; it is a dazzling tale of avarice and redemption, set against the backdrop of the great conflict of our times. And it proves once again why Daniel Silva is “quite simply the best” (Kansas City Star).

Silva does it again...another hit!
This is another terrific story in the Gabriel Allon series. Even more humor this time but still the "arc angel of spies" saves the day and does right by the people who help him. Daniel, you simply must do a movie with Gabriel, three in fact should allow you to combine the best of your stories. Get Ron Howard to do them. Look what a great job he did with Dan Brown's stories and yours are better!

Good Story, Bad Details
Storyline was pretty good. Book got bogged down with too much trivial detail which made it difficult to follow all the names and name changes. Would have been better at half the length.

Great to the end
Once again Daniel Silvia has put together a story that holds one bound until the very end. I can't wait for another installment.

House of Spies
The first Silva book I read was Moscow Rules. I immediately began enthralled with Gabriel Allon and have read all of Silva’s books, including his first few non-Allon focused books. Silva has become a master of weaving fiction with reality. His lifelike characters scaryingly seem too real for fiction. "House of Spies” builds on earlier works with returning characters, both good and bad. Silva carefully leads the reader into the word of criminals and terrorists and how the world’s foremost intelligence agencies, led by Israeli super spy, Gabriel Allon, infiltrate and defeat these malevenant masterminds. Silva’s storytelling is mesmerizing as he patiently leads the reader deeper and deeper into the plot and finally the dramatic conclusion.

Outstanding book! I finished in just a few sittings, and enjoyed the suspense and the development of the wonderful characters from previous books in this series. The scenes are so vividly written I feel like I'm part of the action, but so glad I'm not. It makes me grateful for all the talented and brilliant spies willing to sacrifice for world peace.

Another great book by Daniel Silva. This book is about the operation to neutralize Saladin, the mastermind behind the terrorist attack on US soil in the previous Gabriel Allon novel. This time Saladin has his sights set on England, and the English, French, American and Israeli Counter-terrorism organizations cooperate to take down the criminal mastermind. These books are great - sometimes I have to stop reading, the situations being so fraught with danger that I have to take a breath before I read on. Mr Silva is a master of this genre!

I can't go any further. Halfway through and this book puts me to sleep every time I listen. Pure boredom. The writer spends more effort dropping names than he does getting on with the story. The narrator inserts periods mid-sentence and other times joins two sentences as one. At times he sounds drunk. One star is a generous rating. Can I get a refund?

A Kirkus Best Book of the Year#1 NYT Bestseller
#1 USA Bestseller
#1 WSJ Bestseller

House of Spies

#1 WSJ Bestseller

Long, rambling biographies of fellow agents, friends, enemies, lovers, and others interrupted occasionally by a bit of action. Lots of discussion of things in the past. Not a very good book. Silvia has trouble writing any more. The book needs to be tightened.

From the opening I was hooked. The vivid imagery, the deep characters and fast paced story line - I could barely put the book down.

Daniel Silva has incredible knowledge and the ability to keep the suspense at a very high level through every page of his novels. His books are well researched and very believable. And they are a great read!

Hard read. Too many characters to many plots. Didn't enjoy the read at all. Had to force myself to finish. Just to confusing

House of Unnecessary Character Development
This is the first time I’ve read this author. I couldn't make it past the first 100 or so pages. Way too many characters were introduced. I was having a hard time keeping tract of who was who and got to the point where I didn’t care.

Way to slow of a start. I have read all his books and I gave up on this after 170 pages. Not like the others.

House of Spies
Outstanding book! I finished in just a few sittings, and enjoyed the suspense and the development of the wonderful characters from previous books in this series. The scenes are so vividly written I feel like I'm part of the action, but so glad I'm not. It makes me grateful for all the talented and brilliant spies willing to sacrifice for world peace.

House of Spies
Glad that you included all of the old characters It was good that many played a part in House of Spies I wonder why when Saladan was in the last vehicle the drone wasn't sent it to crash?

House of Spies
Another great book by Daniel Silva. This book is about the operation to neutralize Saladin, the mastermind behind the terrorist attack on US soil in the previous Gabriel Allon novel. This time Saladin has his sights set on England, and the English, French, American and Israeli Counter-terrorism organizations cooperate to take down the criminal mastermind. These books are great - sometimes I have to stop reading, the situations being so fraught with danger that I have to take a breath before I read on. Mr Silva is a master of this genre!

Unbearable
I can't go any further. Halfway through and this book puts me to sleep every time I listen. Pure boredom. The writer spends more effort dropping names than he does getting on with the story. The narrator inserts periods mid-sentence and other times joins two sentences as one. At times he sounds drunk. One star is a generous rating. Can I get a refund?

Among his best
Maybe not the best, but still quite satisfying and heart pounding. Silva is a superb writer and storyteller.

House of spies
This is one of his best books. Action from beginning to end.

Needs editing
Long, rambling biographies of fellow agents, friends, enemies, lovers, and others interrupted occasionally by a bit of action. Lots of discussion of things in the past. Not a very good book. Silvia has trouble writing any more. The book needs to be tightened.

Couldn't put it down
Great book! I wish he could give us 1000 pages a la Tom Clancy in his prime. So now it's wait for the next one, get sucked in, read it in a day and wait ...
